Kim Cahill Yannuzzi, PCHA, LPN Executive Director

Kim Cahill Yannuzzi

Kim began her nursing career at a hospital in New Jersey. She moved into long-term care about 15 years ago, and has been a director of Personal Care since 2003. Kim has a passion for the older adult population and has formed a team here at the Birches that feels the same. She is looking forward to serving the residents and families for many years to come. Kim lives in Bensalem with her husband and three kids

Trish Troutman, LPN, Daybreak Director 

I have been working with seniors in the healthcare field for over 10 years. Starting as a CNA in 2005, I worked in long term care communities, rehab settings, as well as hospice and adult day care centers. Eventually I continued my education to become an LPN. I am dedicated and passionate about providing excellent care to the residents at The Birches at Newtown. I enjoy making personal and meaningful connections with the residents and their families.

Loraine Myers Activity Director

Loraine is the Activity Director for The Birches at Newtown. Loraine has varied experience in the healthcare field, including Activity Director at Wyomissing Nursing and Rehab, in Reading, PA, and most recently, Activities Coordinator for The Meadows at Shannondell, located in Audubon, PA. She thoroughly enjoys working with the senior population, and finds the experience of helping to enhance the quality of the lives of her residents very rewarding and educational. Loraine enjoys singing, playing guitar, art, photography, theater, and the outdoors. A Bucks County native, originally from Levittown, Loraine resides in Langhorne PA.

Jason McDowell LPN, Resident Care Director

As a nurse, I have worked in Acute Care Hospitals, Physicians Offices and in Long Term Care. However, my calling is working with the senior population. I have worked in LTC for the past 15 years in direct care and supervisory roles. 
I was with for my last company for 7 years in Louisiana, providing regional support for 15 buildings across Louisiana and Colorado. I am excited to bring my passion for learning about and improving the lives of the senior population to The Birches at Newtown. I currently reside in Langhorne with my family and three fur babies.

Martina Schmitt, Business Office Manager

Martina is an accounting professional with a strong Human Resource and Customer Service background. Martina has worked as the Business Office Manager in Long Term Care and Assisted Living facilities, as well as at a for-profit school for over 15 years prior to joining us at the Birches. She also worked in many capacities at a local car dealership in Newtown in various positions for over 21 years. She has lived in Bucks County all her life and currently resides in Parkland with her son.

Julianne Hart, Director of Marketing

Julianne's experience in sales and marketing extends over twelve years, with proven consistency in improved profitability and quantifiable results. Her career in senior living began in 2016 at an international assisted living and dementia care community in Paoli, Pennsylvania.
She believes that "a clear understanding of the consequential effect between operations and sales is essential to the success of an effective marketing plan and sustained profitability”. A desire for comprehensive industry knowledge coupled with passion for serving seniors is what drives her.
Her leadership style is based on a foundation of trust and total commitment to community, residents, families and associates. “I believe that community success is built upon a foundation of talent, commitment and passion – and teamwork is the keystone that solidifies its structure”.
Julianne and her husband, Steve enjoy gatherings with family and friends and hope to soon settle in the Lower Bucks County area.

Dwight Palmer, Director of Dining Services

Dwight is a graduate of Cornwall College in Montego Bay Jamaica. Dwight came to the United States in 2002, and he says “One of my greatest accomplishments is becoming a U.S. citizen in 2016!” He comes to the Birches with over 20 plus years of Culinary Management experience. Dwight is Serv Safe Certified. He is passionate about his craft and ensuring the residents he serves have a memorable dining experience. Dwight believes that healthy and nutritional meals can be tasty and enjoyable. He is very well versed in menu planning to ensure our residents dining experience never becomes routine. Dwight is excited about impacting the lives of the residents at the Birches each and every day.
